hello,

I have just started the diet.
In the first week I lost 4 lbs and I thought that I was not evenj trying it properly.
I can't wait to see what happens next week!!!!
I am aiming for 24 lbs in total by my birthday, I am REALLY hoping that this will work for me.
Thanks

Hi DD,

fantastic!!!!Clap

Thanks for trying my diet, I am sure that this is going to continue, the 4 lbs you have lost in the first week matches the results we are getting everywhere else.

Remember that you should not try to lose too much too quickly. But with this diet you will soon find that YOU are in control and YOU decide how much you lose and when, so there is no need to be excessive with the weight loss.

I find that if the scales are not going down, or even creep up after a "special occasion meal", I can just allow myself to feel hungry for a little while longer the next two days and I lose the excess.

So take it steady, you can get to your target weight and keep it there.

Good luck and PLEASE keep us informed of your progress.
I see that you posted this thread as a Guest, please register if you can (you don't HAVE to) it will open up more options on the forum for you and I can keep you informed.

Cheers

Another 3 lbs this week !!!!!!!

Even though I went out for a meal Wednesday night and had the "works".

I had put on 2lbs on the Thursday morning weigh in but I expected that (thanks to your advice) and so I just tried a little bit harder on Thursday and Friday and this morning (Sunday) I had lost that and was down 3lbs on last Sunday.

I have seen people state that they don't really feel like they are dieting and I didn't believe them at first. I KNOW I am dieting but I don't FEEL like I am dieting, it is perfect.

I am recommending your book to all of my friends and they are pretty impressed.

Thank you "the birchall diet"

Congratulations DD !!!!

Keep it up, you will soon hit your target and you will have educated your stomach to expect smaller portions and so keep the weight completely under control.

I am 100% confident that we can control our weight COMPLETLY under this diet.

I have days where my wieght goes up slighlty but I can lose it every time.

As soon as I see the scales start to show an increase I can react and control it, thanks to the regular weigh ins.

I am sure that you will soon get to that stage and you will enjoy your food just as much (if not more) than you ever have.

Please keep updating us on your progress it helps others feel that they too can control their weight.

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry for not keeping you up to date, but I have had not had time to get near a computer. But the diet is working REALLY well, I have hit my target (24lbs).

My BMI is still slightly higher than it should be and so I am going to aim for another 9lbs and that will JUST push me into the "normal" BMI range.

It is such an easy diet to follow, I was naughty a couple of times (Parties and meals out) but I was able to easily lose the extra I put on and so I the diet doesn't stop you from enjoying your food. It really is the prefect diet.

I have told all of my friends (only the ones that would welcome the advice!!! Not everyone wants to have it pointed out to them that they should be losing weight.

Thank you so much Steven.

This is what everyone whosoever tried this diet regime. The diet should be such that should contain all the required elements by the body, in limited amount. This would lead the path to a healthy living and also induce weight loss.

Hi,

Yes, the body needs different foods at different times and so you must make sure that you are eating healthily and in small portions.

I "listen" closely to my body and respond to the signals it gives out. If I am hungr I eat whatever my body is craving (a healthy option that is).

I believe that the body has the capabilities of managing itself if we give it a chance.

If we listened to all of the "experts" every time then we would never be able to follow ANY advice, because they are all saying different things.

So I beklieve that we have one expert that knows us best and that is our own body.

Thanks for joining in the forum posts.

I am starting to hear running is not that great for you? Especially the knees. But also the spine?

Hi,

I am pretty sure that there is some truth in that.

I have always separated exercise from losing weight.

I strongly believe that you should do the right amount of exercise to keep fit, and not use exercise as a way to lose weight. It is not that simple unfortunately.

Over exercising does have an impact on the body as you suggest, you also feel very hungry after exercise and I know that we never eat less than we should. So you may eat more than you would have done had you not exercised so hard?

So in many cases exercise will not be that magic solution (there is no magic solution).

So do enough exercise to keep fit, but do not use this as a way to lose weight quickly.

Just try to eat smaller proportions of REAL food, healthy food, but not diet food.

Good food contains nourishment and if this has been taken out of the food,  to class it as "diet food", then all you have done is to reduce the nutrition and you have done nothing to reduce the volume that you eat (in fact you will have eaten a larger volume of food for the same nourishment!!!).

There is a LOT more to my diet but these are the basics.

Thanks for your post.
